Due to scheduled maintenance for the northwest, we seek Deckhands for an array of Western Australia marine maintenance works, assisting commercial divers these positions are for an immediate start with likelihood of ongoing work for candidates demonstrating the following:
  • Previous Deckhand experience is well received.
  • Strong Seamanship
  • Strong attention to safety
  • Excellent communication
  • Keen to learn
  • Do as instructed
  • Can-do attitude
  • Fit & strong
  • Desire to expand experience in the field of Commercial Diving

In order to fulfill the requirements of this position, the successful applicants will need to demonstrate they have the following skills & qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
  • Small boat handling certificate,
  • Competent seamanship for working at sea,
  • Good personal hygiene,
  • Familiar with providing a surface supporting role to diving operations,
  • Senior First aid certificate,
  • Some in-water experience is an advantage (diving etc)
  • Mechanical knowledge is certainly an advantage.

Preferred not a must.
  • White card
    Forklift ticket (Preferable though not a must)
  • Current drivers license (HR Licence Preferable though not a must)
  • Any above/below water welding experience would be well received.
  • Pass Drug & Alcohol screen
  • Sound boat experience
  • Skippers ticket
  • Coxswains (Preferred though not a must)

Duties:
  • General deckhand duties consistent for a work vessel of 19 meters in length or similar,
  • Capable of competently operating an 8-meter work vessel,
  • Able to competently operate oxy and acetylene cutting equipment,
  • Willing to complete general lifting and loading duties, (some manual lifting is definitely required)
  • Willing to cook, clean, and perform general galley duties,
  • Capable and willing to live aboard our work vessel for 3 weeks (or more) periods at a time,
  • All works will normally continue each day whilst at sea, but inclement weather may interrupt work procedures if deemed unsafe to continue.

The Job: This position is ongoing (training & inductions are PERTH based), then depart Perth for Abrolhos islands Geraldton, Coral Bay, Exmouth after 4 weeks successful candidates will be assisting/deck handing on various dives around WA.
