Our client is a highly regarded private company and a recognized leader in the Australian steel fabrication and construction industry. Our client provides steel design, fabrication and construction services to the construction, mining, oil and gas sectors Australia wide. Supported by our Naval Base workshop facilities and large plant fleet our services include full design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning.
Monday - Friday - 10hr days
Saturday - 6hr days (optional)

Large workshop based in the Naval Base
Temp to Perm position
Scheduled servicing of all vehicles and equipment to ensure they continue in operation, this includes:
Checking and changing oil, air and fuel filters.
Checking wheels and tyres.
Checking and replacing oil and brake fluids etc.
Testing batteries, checking brake system components and many other tasks.
Refueling of vehicles and equipment as required.
Undertake repairs on any vehicles and equipment as required.
Regular plant inspections and discussions with Operators to look for and identify potential problems and undertake corrective action where required
Ensuring "Critical Parts" are available on site and ordered in to maintain a steady and available supply.
HD Mechanical Trade Certificate.
Typically a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Mechanical Trade in particular in heavy diesel and hydraulics.
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Vehicle electrical systems knowledge is preferable
Good diagnostic skills.
Fit for the job
Effective communication skills are also a big advantage in relaying information (to co-workers, foreman, service advisor, customers and management).
Reports Directly to: Construction Manager
Positions Reporting to: Trades Assistant
Position Purpose; to maintain, service and repair vehicles, mobile plant and other equipment
